ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,636,065, issued on May 26, was assigned to Covidien LP (Mansfield, Mass.).
"Monopolar L-hook electrode with varied cross-sections" was invented by Tong Shen (Shanghai), Yongming Zhao (Shanghai), Yuan Kang (Shanghai), Peng Zha (Shanghai), Xinmeng Liu (Shanghai), Lijun Zhu (Shanghai) and Xiaoxin Wang (Shanghai).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An electrosurgical hook electrode includes an intermediate portion (36), a hook portion (38) connected to the intermediate portion (36) at a bend angle, and a coating (40) disposed over the intermediate portion (36) and the hook portion (38), the coating (40) having a varying thickness."
