ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,368, issued on June 30, was assigned to Covidien LP (Mansfield, Mass.).

"Ligation clip applier with clip retaining end effector" was invented by Justin J. Thomas (New Haven, Conn.), Roy J. Pilletere (Middletown, Conn.), Matthew A. Dinino (Newington, Conn.) and Jacob C. Baril (Norwalk, Conn.).
