ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 14 -- United States Patent no. 12,678,273, issued on July 14, was assigned to Covidien LP (Mansfield, Mass.).
"Implantable prothesis for minimally invasive hernia repair" was invented by Mark S. Sneider (Minnetonka, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An implantable prosthesis for hernia repair is designed for minimally invasive, robotic, or laparoscopic surgery. Various embodiments of the implantable prosthesis are tailored for inguinal hernia repair, including direct, indirect, and bilateral hernia defects, as well as for femoral hernia repair."
The patent was filed on July 18, 2024, under Application No. 18/777,483.
