ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,502,058, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to Covidien LP (Mansfield, Mass.).
"Laryngoscope blade with glare-reducing features" was invented by Michael Ng (Kln, Hong Kong), Jurgen Van Vlem (Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong) and Hoi Cheung Wong (Tsing Yi, Hong Kong).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A laryngoscope system includes a light source configured to emit light, a camera configured to obtain image data, and a blade having a channel sized to fit over the light source and the camera. The channel includes a closed end surface, a lateral surface, and a texture or a coating applied to the lateral surface."
