ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,729,383, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to CORTEVA AGRISCIENCE LLC (Indianapolis).

"Optimal soybean loci" was invented by Lakshmi Sastry-Dent (Avon, Ind.), Zehui Cao (Westfield, Ind.), Shreedharan Sriram (Waukee, Iowa), Steven R. Webb (Westifled, Ind.), Debra L. Camper (Indianapolis) and W. Michael Ainley (Carmel, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "As disclosed herein, optimal native genomic loci of soybean plants have been identified that represent best sites for targeted insertion of exogenous sequences."

The patent was filed on May 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/672,446.
