US Patent Issued to CORNING on June 30 for "K 2 O-containing display glasses" (New York Inventor)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,668,523, issued on June 30, was assigned to CORNING Inc. (Corning, N.Y.).

"K 2 O-containing display glasses" was invented by Alexandra Lai Ching Kao Andrews Mitchell (Ithaca, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A glass composition includes about 60 mol. % to about 80 mol. % SiO2, 0 mol. % to about 11 mol. % Al2O3, about 4.0 mol. % to about 12 mol. % B2O3, about 0.5 mol. % to about 20 mol. % of K2O, 0 mol. % to about 18.5 mol. % MgO, and 0 mol. % to about 1 mol. % SnO2. The glass composition has a range of CTE, which can be adjusted based on the composition, and can be used for display applications."
