ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,103, issued on March 31, was assigned to CORNELL UNIVERSITY (Ithaca, N.Y.) and THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE LELAND STANFORD JUNIOR UNIVERSITY (Palo Alto, Calif.).

"Antimicrobial and antiviral effects of C2-C7 alkyl boronic acids" was invented by Kenneth W. Simpson (Ithaca, N.Y.), Shiying Zhang (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Michael Fischbach (Stanford, Calif.).
