ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,631,695, issued on May 19, was assigned to ComSonics Inc. (Harrisonburg, Va.).

"Leakage detection for cable TV systems with upstream signals above 118 MHz" was invented by Ken Couch (Harrisonburg, Va.), Joseph Early (Harrisonburg, Va.) and Peter Jensen (Harrisonburg, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of using customer premises cable modem equipment to generate a signal that can be used for leakage detection. Various signal types are described which are usable for the purposes of leakage detection."
