ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,667,127, issued on June 30, was assigned to Compagnie Gervais Danone (Paris).

"Acetobacter for use in preparation of fermented products" was invented by Laurent Marchal (Villemoisson sur Orge, France), Peggy Garault (Montlhery, France), Marie-Christine Degivry (Le Plessis Robinson, France) and Christophe Daval (Palaiseau, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a novel strain of Acetobacter malorum, compositions comprising said strain and to methods for the preparation of such compositions."

The patent was filed on Dec. 3, 2021, under Application No. 18/255,175.
