ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,655,357, issued on June 16, was assigned to COMPAGNIE GENERALE DES ETABLISSEMENTS MICHELIN (Clermont-Ferrand, France).

"Method for producing resins from rubber chips" was invented by Marc Sutter (Clermont-Ferrand, France) and Pedro Borges (Clermont-Ferrand, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of production of hydrocarbon-containing resins starting from a charge comprising rubber chips comprises at least one pyrolysis step and a resin synthesis step."

The patent was filed on Oct. 15, 2021, under Application No. 18/037,002.
