ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,589,123, issued on March 31, was assigned to City of Hope (Duarte, Calif.).
"Compositions and methods comprising clostridium butyricum for the treatment of cancer" was invented by Peter P. Lee (San Marino, Calif.) and Sumanta Kumar Pal (Brea, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein, inter alia, are methods and compositions for the treatment of cancer. The compositions include one or more anti-cancer agents and Clostridium butyricum. Administration of Clostridium butyricum can enhance the therapeutic effects of anti-cancer agents, thereby increasing the efficacy of said agents for cancer treatment."
