ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,465,659, issued on Nov. 11, was assigned to CHARITE -UNIVERSITATSMEDIZIN BERLIN (Berlin).
"Iron(III) complexes having new contrast agent properties, for magnetic resonance imaging" was invented by Eyk Schellenberger (Berlin), Ralf Hauptmann (Berlin), Akvile Hackel (Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany), Jing Xie (Berlin), Jorg Schnorr (Oranienburg, Germany) and Bernd Hamm (Berlin).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides novel iron(III) complexes with formulae (1) and (2). Furthermore, corresponding ligands with formulae (L1) and (L2) for the production of iron(III) complexes are disclosed."
