ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,630,850, issued on May 19, was assigned to Chapman University (Orange, Calif.).

"Enzymatic break down of chlorogenic acid in sunflower-containing products" was invented by Lilian Senger (Orange, Calif.), Cedric Owens (Orange, Calif.) and Christine Lo Verde (Orange, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are methods of reducing and/or preventing "greening" in sunflower-containing food products."
