US Patent Issued to Catheter Precision on Sept. 29 for "Surgical vessel closing pressure device" (California, New Jersey Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,745,995, issued on Sept. 29, was assigned to Catheter Precision Inc. (Fort Mill, S.C.).

"Surgical vessel closing pressure device" was invented by Auston Locke (San Clemente, Calif.) and David Jenkins (Flanders, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Various embodiments include a vessel clamping pressure device that is configured to receive suture threads extending from the closure of a vascular vessel of a patient, and maintaining tension on suture threads between the patient and the vessel clamping pressure device to apply pressure to the patient so as to apply a clamping pressure to the vascular vessel to facilitate clotting."
