ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,599,684, issued on April 14, was assigned to CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY (Cleveland).

"Molecular probes and methods of use" was invented by Zheng-Rong Lu (Beachwood, Ohio) and Zheng Han (Cleveland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A molecular probe includes the following formula: P-L-C wherein P is a EDB-FN targeting peptide, C is a contrast agent; and L is a non-peptide linker that covalently links the peptide to the contrast agent."

The patent was filed on Aug. 29, 2023, under Application No. 18/239,441.
