ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,511,743, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to CARNEGIE MELLON UNIVERSITY (Pittsburgh).

"System and method for detecting and classifying abnormal cells" was invented by Marios Savvides (Pittsburgh), Ibrahim Majeed Alkanhal (Pittsburgh), Kai Hu (Pittsburgh), Fangyi Chen (Pittsburgh) and Xiaoying Zhang (Pittsburgh).
