ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,548,009, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Capital One Services LLC (McLean, Va.).

"Tapping a contactless card to a computing device to provision a virtual number" was invented by Jeffrey Rule (Chevy Chase, Md.), Colin Hart (Arlington, Va.) and Kaitlin Newman (Washington).
