US Patent Issued to Canon on June 9 for "Optical apparatus, image pickup apparatus, and projection apparatus" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,650,540, issued on June 9, was assigned to Canon K.K. (Tokyo).

"Optical apparatus, image pickup apparatus, and projection apparatus" was invented by Akira Yokoyama (Tochigi, Japan) and Shotaro Watanabe (Tochigi, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The optical apparatus comprises an optical member and an aluminum alloy member facing the optical member. A black oxide coating is formed on a surface of the aluminum alloy member facing the optical member, and a plurality of holes each having a diameter of 5 micro metre or more and 100 micro metre or less are formed in the black oxide coating."
