ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,669,684, issued on June 30, was assigned to Canon K.K. (Tokyo).
"Composite optical element and optical system including the same" was invented by Junya Ichimura (Tochigi, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composite optical element includes a glass lens and a resin lens that are joined together. The resin lens has an aspheric shape. When Nd is a refractive index of the resin lens, Nud is an Abbe number of the resin lens, and ThetagF is a partial dispersion ratio of the resin lens, Nd, Nud, and ThetagF are appropriately set."
The patent was filed on Sept. 5, 2023, under Application No. 18/461,380.
