ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,594,689, issued on April 7, was assigned to Cambria Co. LLC (Eden Prairie, Minn.).

"Metallic stone slabs, systems, and methods" was invented by Jon Louis Grzeskowiak II (Prior Lake, Minn.), Martin E. Davis (Excelsior, Minn.) and Michael Raymond Mead (Elysian, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Stone slabs, and systems and methods of forming slabs, are described. Some example slabs include a pattern defined by a particulate mineral mix. The pattern includes one or more characteristics that differ from other regions of the slab where the pattern is not present."
