ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,667, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, Calif.).

"Molecular sieve CIT-17, its synthesis and use" was invented by Faisal H Alshafei (Monrovia, Calif.) and Mark E Davis (Pasadena, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure is directed to novel silicoaluminophosphate (SAPO)-based material with an SAT framework structure (topology type) (SAPO-SAT) that is substantially free of a non-SAPO-SAT phase, as well as the synthesis and use of that SAPO-SAT."

The patent was filed on Nov. 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/508,778.
