ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 27 -- United States Patent no. 12,776,675, issued on Oct. 27, was assigned to BorgWarner Inc. (Auburn Hills, Mich.).
"Rotor for an external rotor motor" was invented by Silvio Koch (Kirchheimbolanden, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A rotor for an external rotor motor is described, having a stack of ferromagnetic steel sheets, permanent magnets which are fastened to an inner side of the stack, and a carrier which has a hub for a shaft and is fastened to the stack. It is provided that the carrier is connected to the stack by a shaft-hub connection."
The patent was filed on June 21, 2024, under Application No. 18/750,197.
