ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,303,376, issued on May 20, was assigned to Board of Regents of the University of Nebraska (Lincoln, Neb.).

"Bypass graft" was invented by Jason N. MacTaggart (Omaha, Neb.), Alexey Kamenskiy (Omaha, Neb.) and Kaspars Maleckis (Omaha, Neb.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Elastomeric bypass grafts (EBG) described herein can be pre-stretched and are able to accommodate limb flexion-induced or organ-induced deformations without producing excessive tortuosity or stresses.
