ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,673,037, issued on July 7, was assigned to BioJiva LLC (San Jose, Calif.).
"Methods of treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis" was invented by Peter Milner (Los Altos, Calif.) and Mikhail Sergeevich Shchepinov (Kingston Upon Thames, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are methods for inhibiting the progression of neurodegenerative disease. The methods include administering to a patient suffering from such a disease a composition comprising either deuterated linoleic acid or an ester thereof."
The patent was filed on Sept. 21, 2022, under Application No. 17/949,713.
