ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,503,727, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. (Hercules, Calif.).

"Digital assays with a generic reporter" was invented by Duc Do (San Jose, Calif.), Claudia Litterst (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and Dianna Maar (Mountain House, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Digital assay system, including methods, apparatus, and compositions, for assay of one or more targets in a set of partitions containing a generic reporter of target amplification."

The patent was filed on May 3, 2024, under Application No. 18/654,169.
