ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,860, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Bio-Rad Laboratories Inc. (Hercules, Calif.) and J. David Gladstone Institutes (San Francisco).

"Detection of genome editing" was invented by Jennifer Berman (San Carlos, Calif.), Samantha Cooper (Berkeley, Calif.), George Karlin-Neumann (Palo Alto, Calif.), Yuichiro Miyaoka (San Francisco), Bruce Conklin (San Francisco) and Josh Shinoff (Emeryville, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods, compositions, and kits are provided for quantification of genome editing."

The patent was filed on Dec. 20, 2021, under Application No. 17/556,118.
