ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,405,273, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to Becton Dickinson and Co. (Franklin Lakes, N.J.).

"Modular assay reader device" was invented by Tong Xie (San Jose, Calif.), Stephan Hengstler (Campbell, Calif.), Vincent C. Moyer (Los Gatos, Calif.) and Benny Wing Hung Lai (Fremont, Calif.).
