ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,545,016, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to BANDO CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES LTD. (Hyogo, Japan).

"Surface protection film" was invented by Yutaka Kamada (Hyogo, Japan) and Kazumi Sakano (Hyogo, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention addresses the problem of providing a surface protection film having superior oil resistance. Provided is a surface protection film having a coating layer obtained by curing an isocyanate compound, on one surface of a protection layer formed of a polyurethane."
