US Patent Issued to Atea Pharmaceuticals on Sept. 22 for "Nucleotide hemi-sulfate salt for the treatment of hepatitis C virus" (Massachusetts Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,741,984, issued on Sept. 22, was assigned to Atea Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Boston).

"Nucleotide hemi-sulfate salt for the treatment of hepatitis C virus" was invented by Adel Moussa (Burlington, Mass.) and Jean-Pierre Sommadossi (Boston).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hemi-sulfate salt of the structure:to treat a host infected with hepatitis C, as well as pharmaceutical compositions and dosage forms, including solid dosage forms, thereof."

The patent was filed on June 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/739,149.
