ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,732,589, issued on Sept. 8, was assigned to Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.).

"Dynamic binning passthrough content" was invented by Kaushik Raghunath (Pleasanton, Calif.) and Venu M. Duggineni (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method is provided that includes determining a gaze position of a user relative to mixed-reality content displayed in a first frame, setting a binning mode for a first camera based on the determined gaze position, and capturing, using the first camera, passthrough content for a second frame at a resolution determined by the binning mode."
