ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,623,027, issued on May 12, was assigned to Antares Pharma Inc. (Ewing, N.J.).

"Injector safety device" was invented by Julius C. Sund (Plymouth, Minn.), Eric Lagman (Anderson, S.C.), Peter A. Hoeft (Seattle), Paul R Lesch Jr. (Lino Lakes, Minn.) and Thomas E. Kramer (Andover, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A safety member for use with an injection device is disclosed. The safety member includes a blocking ring extending into a housing of the injection device in blocking association with a latch member associated with a trigger mechanism of the injector, in which the blocking ring blocks movement of a portion of the trigger mechanism...
