ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,507,761, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to American Sole LLC (San Antonio).
"Goodyear welt footwear and methods for making the same" was invented by Jack S. Kishk (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Goh Yan Shyang (Klang, Malaysia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are methods of assembling footwear, including Goodyear welt boots, in a manner that comports with applicable U.S. laws and regulations that would exempt the footwear from ex-U.S. country of origin labeling requirements, when the components are imported into the U.S."
The patent was filed on Sept. 10, 2025, under Application No. 19/325,018.
