US Patent Issued to Altria Client Services on March 31 for "Electronic smoking article" (Virginia Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,588,707, issued on March 31, was assigned to Altria Client Services LLC (Richmond, Va.).

"Electronic smoking article" was invented by Susan E. Plunkett (Richmond, Va.) and David B. Kane (Richmond, Va.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An electronic smoking article includes a liquid supply region including liquid material and a heater-wick element operable to wick liquid material and heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol. The heater-wick element is formed of a carbon or graphite foam."
