ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,675,198, issued on July 7, was assigned to Alps Alpine Co. Ltd. (Japan).
"Input device" was invented by Shunsuke Umemura (Miyagi-ken, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An input device includes a detection electrode, a drive electrode facing the detection electrode, a power supply that applies an alternating current drive voltage to the drive electrode, a detector that detects an output of the detection electrode, and a capacitor disposed in series between the drive electrode and the power supply."
