ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,716,140, issued on Aug. 25, was assigned to AGFA-Gevaert NV (Mortsel, Belgium).
"Separator for water electrolysis" was invented by Willem Mues (Mortsel, Belgium), Cristina Tudisco (Mortsel, Belgium) and Hanne Verwaest (Mortsel, Belgium).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A separator for alkaline electrolysis comprising a support (10) and a porous layer (20) provided on the support, characterized in that the support is capable of being substantially removed from the separator. The support is preferably removed by the electrolyte of an alkaline electrolyser."
