ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,607,730, issued on April 21, was assigned to AEVA INC. (Mountain View, Calif.).

"Techniques for scan pattern beam alignment" was invented by Keith Gagne (Santa Clara, Calif.) and Bradley Scot Levin (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system includes a plurality of optical sources to generate a plurality of optical beams and at least one optical component adjustable to shift the plurality of optical beams to align with a reference output beam pattern prior to propagating to output scanning optics."
