US Patent Issued to 3M Innovative Properties on Dec. 2 for "Windshield, display system, and reflective polarizer" (Minnesota Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 2 -- United States Patent no. 12,487,454, issued on Dec. 2, was assigned to 3M Innovative Properties Co. (St. Paul, Minn.).

"Windshield, display system, and reflective polarizer" was invented by Adam D. Haag (Woodbury, Minn.), Brianna N. Wheeler (Bloomington, Minn.) and Matthew B. Johnson (Woodbury, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A windshield of a vehicle includes a reflective polarizer. The windshield is configured to receive and reflect an image light emitted by a display toward a passenger of the vehicle, such that for a substantially normally incident light, the windshield has first and second reflection spectra versus wavelength for the incident light polarize...
