ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 7 -- United States Patent no. 12,672,752, issued on July 7, was assigned to 2XL Corp. (Bolingbrook, Ill.).

"Mop" was invented by Robert L. Giammanco (Hinsdale, Ill.), Morad Ghassemian (Oak Park, Ill.) and Curtis Leroy Cruver IV (Elmhurst, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A mop is disclosed. In some embodiments, the mop has a head, a shaft, and an absorbent substrate. The head is connected to an end of the shaft. An absorbent substrate roll arrangement usable with a mop and a method of cleaning a floor are also disclosed."
