According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fence post bracket having a first wall portion, a pair of second wall portions extending perpendicular to the first wall portion, and a base orthogonal to the wall portions and secured thereto. The base extends between the second wall portions and beyond each of the wall portions to provide a flange and apertures in the flange to receive fastenings. The wall portions receive the post and the post is elevated by the base."
