US Patent Issued on Sept. 29 for "Prunus rootstock named 'RVL-4'" (Russian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. PP37,715, issued on Sept. 29.

"Prunus rootstock named 'RVL-4'" was invented by Gennady Eremin (Krymsk, Russia) and Oxana Eremin (Krymsk, Russia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Prunus rootstock tree named 'RVL-4' is disclosed, characterized by high precocity and mildew resistance. 'RVL-4' is suitable for use as a rootstock upon which commercial fruit bearing sweet cherry varieties may be budded or grafted. The new variety is a Prunus cerasus x maackii x lannesiana, produced for rootstock."

The patent was filed on Aug. 15, 2025, under Application No. 19/301,524.
