ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 24 -- United States Patent no. PP37,711, issued on Sept. 22.

"Aechmea plant named 'A4006'" was invented by Chester Skotak Jr. (Alajuela, Costa Rica).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct Aechmea plant named 'A4006' particularly distinguished by leaves entirely lacking marginal spines; a very compact rosette plant habit, upright inflorescence, positioned well above the foliage; a uniform plant form and high stability through asexual propagation; distinctive bright pink bracts with violet-blue flowers."

The patent was filed on Nov. 26, 2025, under Application No. 19/401,699.
