ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,546, issued on Sept. 16.
"Animal leash" was invented by Adam Pinon (Franklin, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An animal leash is a cord with unique attributes to simplify the leash structure and ensure the leash safety with the inclusion of metal retainers and poly-coated shrunken tubing about the retainers and associated leash portions to which it is attached."
The patent was filed on Nov. 16, 2023, under Application No. 18/510,730.
