ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 15 -- United States Patent no. 12,734,398, issued on Sept. 15.
"Elliptical trainer" was invented by Chih-Yung Hsu (Tainan City, Taiwan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An elliptical trainer includes a frame; two pedal units, disposed on two opposite sides of the frame; two linkage units, disposed on the two opposite sides of the frame and connected to the two pedal units; and a resistance unit, disposed on the frame. The two pedal units are connected to the resistance unit via the corresponding linkage units."
The patent was filed on Dec. 11, 2024, under Application No. 18/977,043.
