"Liquefaction process" was invented by Richard Bauman (Bellingham, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A hybrid carbonaceous feed liquefaction process comprising an indirect conversion process and direct conversion and upgrading process is provided that provides for increased capacity and other advantages."
