According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A detachable grip panel for a real or simulated firearm according to the present invention includes an onlaid or inlaid aggressively textured surface layer on top of an adhesive layer nested into a specially formed recessed area on the grip panel.
