According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a cooking splash guard that includes more than one hinge, a back panel, more than one partition panel, and more than one side panel. Hinges attach the partition panels to the back panel allowing the partition panels to be repositioned to stand vertically on a cooktop surface. Panel magnet fasteners are affixed along the perimeter of the partition panels. The edge of each side panel is magnetically coupled to the panel magnet fasteners, in a removable manner.
