According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An insulating panel for use in construction has a central layer, a first water-resistant coating and a second water-resistant coating on opposite sides of the central layer. The first coating and the second coating are joined to the central layer with a glue layer or a thermo-adhesive material. Each of first coating and the second coating is a plastic sheet that is scratched or abraded."
