"Driver protection system and methods of operating the same" was invented by Edward Martin Dougherty III (Perkasie, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A driver protection system installed on a public transit unit including a glass portion, a base portion connected to the glass portion, a hinge portion connected to the glass portion and base portion where the glass portion and base portion are made from bulletproof materials."
The patent was filed on April 30, 2025, under Application No. 19/194,607.
