According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sun shield configured to be attached to a cap. The sun shield can have a brim, and a plurality of clips, wherein each clip is adapted to fasten the brim to an edge of the cap. In embodiments each clip is adapted to position the brim substantially orthogonally to the cap. In embodiments each clip is adapted to position the brim extending outwardly from the cap in a manner that a wearer of the cap is shielded from the sun."
