ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 24 -- United States Patent no. 12,583,595, issued on March 24.

"Wing-mounted multi-stage ionic thruster" was invented by Jason T. Bowles (Bothell, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A multi-stage ionic thruster includes a voltage supply, a frame of a wing, the frame defining a first axis between a leading edge of the wing and a trailing edge of the wing and a second axis between a root of the wing and a tip of the wing, and a plurality of ionic thrusters coupled to the frame and spaced apart from each other along the first axis."

The patent was filed on March 24, 2025, under Application No. 19/088,487.
